MUSCLE SHOALS

For those of you interested in when my next album will recorded, you’ll be happy to know that I was able to spend four days in April down in Muscle Shoals, Alabama at the NuttHouse Recording Studio to get the ball rolling. Studio owner Jimmy Nutt has worked with artists such as The Drive-By Truckers, Jason Isbell, John Paul White, Percy Sledge, and Jimmy Buffett and has an amazing studio in a converted
1950’s bank building (vaults included). Jimmy and I were able to conceptualize and play around with ideas for my second album and I’ll be heading back in September to continue working with him. While I was there, I also got to soak up some of the rich history of the Muscle Shoals area by sitting in on some recording sessions by Spooner Oldham and other members of the legendary “Swampers”. The Shoals is a great little community and a recording studio mecca and I highly recommend a
visit. I’ll be sure to report more when I get back there in the Fall!
